Here are the areas in and around Delhi best suited for singles

Malviya Nagar/Saket

These are amazing residential and market areas, extremely safe and well connected by metro and other forms of public transport. Located in Southern part of Delhi - have their own metro stations on the yellow line. If you work in Gurgaon, but don’t want to miss out on the awesome Delhi vibes then these are the best places for you to put up. Gurgaon is close to both Malviya Nagar and Saket by metro. These places also have a well-functioning market selling every basic commodity. Malviya Nagar’s main market is lined with numerous cafes, shops and high end gadget stores.

Mayur Vihar

This is ideal for those who work in Noida or Central Delhi, but don’t want to live in Noida and Central Delhi as they are too expensive. Mayur Vihar is a beautiful residential colony which is also well connected by metro. It also houses markets - selling necessities like groceries, medicines etc. It is located in East Delhi. Most of the happening and cool areas like Connaught Place (CP),Mandi House, Khan Market can easily be reached by metro from here.

Rajender Nagar

This place situated in West Delhi, is suitable for students preparing for civil services as there are many coaching institutes in the vicinity. It is well-connected by metro and other means of public transport as well. It also has boasts of a market selling groceries, medicines and books. Ideal places for shopping such as CP, Khan Market, and Sarojini are just a short metro ride away from this area.

Mukherjee Nagar

This area is the hub of IAS, Banking and other government entrance exam coaching institutes. Situated in North Delhi, it is a good place to stay for people studying in Delhi University and preparing for government competitive exams. It is safe, well connected and has a well-functioning market with small restaurants, juice, grocery shops, numerous printing and book stores. The nearest metro station from this area is GTB Nagar, which is just a short auto ride away. Shared autos are also available here, so commuting has never been a problem.

Lajpat Nagar

This area is perfect for people working in South Delhi and/or studying in Lady Sri Ram College. It is safe and well connected by metro on the violet line. Also, this area is known for the scrumptious food served by the restaurants here, which ranges from the usual North Indian affair to exotic dishes like shawarmas. This area is particularly known for the lip-smacking tandoori momos.

It also houses many PGs for girls as it’s in proximity to a girl’s college. Rent is reasonable, and it is a good place to live because it is spacious, clean and green. This locality is quite close to most of the happening places in the city and sites of historical importance such as the National Museum, National Gallery of Modern Art, and Purana Qila etc.

Gurgaon

If you work here, then you should probably stay in Gurgaon itself, instead of commuting all the way from Delhi. The area is ideal for people, who are looking for open spaces and want to stay away from the chaotic Delhi. It is well connected by DMRC metro and also has a rapid metro network run by DLF.

Gurgaon has some excellent malls like Ambience mall, gyms, cafes and other places to hang out. Rent here is cheaper than that of South Delhi. So you will end up saving more money and time. There are many PGs and apartments here close to the Huda City Centre metro station, which are up for grabs at a pretty reasonable rent. Noida

Noida is developing and evolving, slowly and steadily. It has now become one of the most happening places around Delhi. If you work at the Film City or any other place in Noida, it is better to stay here and save your time and money rather than commuting every day from Delhi. Noida also enjoys great connectivity from Delhi metro and boasts of some excellent malls along with places to hang out, such as, the Great India Place mall Noida.You can easily get a reasonably priced place here close to the metro station.

Greater Noida

There are numerous townships coming in Greater Noida, and though it is not connected by metro as of now, it will be done soon in future. This place is ideal for those who are working in Greater Noida itself and don’t want to travel a lot. This area vaunts many well-planned townships with many modern amenities like malls, hospitals and restaurants in the vicinity. The rent is also reasonable as compared to Delhi with same amenities.

New Ashok Nagar

This area lies between Delhi and Noida, and is good for people who want to experience the best of both worlds. It is a nice residential colony with all basic amenities nearby, and also has a metro on the Blue Line.

Jangpura

This area is good if you are looking for cheaper options in South Delhi, and it is also well-connected by metro and bus. In fact, bus has an even better connectivity here than the metro, and this area crows some awesome street food joints and shops where you can get everything at really cheap prices. Now that’s what we call a steal deal!!
