There are two kinds of issues a resident can raise :
a) Personal (Related to his house) : ex. Tap in sink is leaking, Need carpenter for door etc
These kinds of complaints are generally handled by the property/estate manager who handles day to day working of the complex. On commonfloor these issues directly get assigned to property manager(if his account is enabled else to moderator) and a notification email for the same is sent.
b) Common Issue ( Issue concerning the community at large): All issues like Security, water, sanitation etc which affect the entire community can be filed as common issue on commonfloor and is visible to allt he other members of the community to comment and express their views along with creating an opinion poll for suggested solutions. These issues get addressed to concerned member of the committee handling issues of that category.
Every issue can be updated, closed, dismissed and archived to keep a track of happenings.
Most of the committees use the issue tracker as a single store for all their community issues. They follow the process as below:
1. Make a list of all issues pending to be discussed before going for the committee meeting.
2.Discuss the issue list, also make note of the updates on the same. In case new issues are discussed same are also noted.
3. After the meeting along with sending the meeting minutes to the all the committee members, all the updates to related issues are done and new issues are filed in the Issue tracker and then the normal process of tracking takes place.
